Yesterday was a truly historic day! Twenty Israeli hostages were released back to their families after two long years in captivity. A monumental peace agreement was signed between the United States, Israel, Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey. Two years of war have finally ended. Our prayers have been answered.
President Trump stated in his remarks in Egypt yesterday, “At long last, we have peace in the Middle East, and it’s a very simple expression—peace in the Middle East. We’ve heard it for many years, but nobody thought it could ever get there. And now we’re there. This is the day that people across this region and around the world have been working, striving, hoping, and praying for. With the historic agreement we have just signed, those prayers of millions have finally been answered. Together, we have achieved the impossible.”
We celebrate that these families have been reunited and that there is a real roadmap toward peace in the Middle East. Please continue to pray for the full implementation of President Trump’s peace plan and for the hostages in their process of healing.
As John 14:27 shares, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Background: President Trump’s 20-Point Plan
Implementation of the President’s 20-point peace plan has begun. A few of the first major points in the plan include:
- Gaza will be a deradicalized terror-free zone that does not pose a threat to its neighbors.
- Gaza will be redeveloped for the benefit of the people of Gaza, who have suffered more than enough.
- If both sides agree to this proposal, the war will immediately end. Israeli forces will withdraw to the agreed-upon line to prepare for a hostage release. During this time, all military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardment, will be suspended, and battle lines will remain frozen until conditions are met for the complete staged withdrawal.
- Within 72 hours of Israel publicly accepting this agreement, all hostages—alive and deceased—will be returned.

This past week, our National Faith Advisory Board team joined the Communion America event — a gathering on the National Mall in our nation’s capital with 50 tents of nonstop worship, one tent for each state. Thousands of worshippers of all ages and backgrounds gathered for prayer, gospel proclamation, and a communion table stretching the length of the National Mall.
