Hosted by the National Faith Advisory Board
Faith Leaders Border Forum
I am personally inviting you to join me and the NFAB team on our second National Faith Leaders Border Forum in El Paso, Texas Thursday, June 29 - Friday, June 30, 2023, hosted by the National Faith Advisory Board.
As you well know, we have a border crisis, both for Americans and the migrants. In order for us to be part of the solution and to minister to those in need, it is important we see for ourselves what is happening at the border. This is your opportunity.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has recently stated that we are witnessing "the greatest displacement of people since World War II." We are on track to surpass two million illegal apprehensions in 2023 – the most ever in history. This forum is an opportunity to hear first-hand from the U.S. Border Patrol, local and state law enforcement agencies, and local and state government officials. You will tour the border, visit the border wall, and visit an Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) site housing unaccompanied minors.
With this unprecedented migration crossing our border, you will walk away with a greater understanding of the severity on our border and the extraordinary ministry opportunities that are before us as faith leaders. You will be boots on the ground experiencing first-hand the challenges that face our Border Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), and the local community. You will have an opportunity to learn about how the massive flow of drugs, especially fentanyl, is being smuggled into the United States from our southern border and critical solutions to combat it. Space is limited due to the number of people allowed to visit the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) site so please sign up immediately. The National Faith Leaders Border Forum is limited to men and women in ministry.
