This week, the Religious Liberty Commission held its sixth hearing with the accounts of Americans testifying about ways religious liberty has been recently breached in our nation. These hearings are motivating action across federal agencies including at the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)!

NEW Faith-friendly Language Added to Funding Announcements

The U.S. Department of Labor has recently decided to add language in announcements about funding opportunities that encourages faith organizations to apply for grants open to the public.

On Thursday, March 19th, the U.S. Department of Labor launched a new website for its Center for Faith that provides resources related to combatting all forms of religious discrimination, including Christian bias and anti-Semitism. In addition, the website includes faith-related policy, ways you can contact the faith director at the U.S. Department of Labor and three impactful resources for faith leaders:

Interactive U.S. Map – details religious discrimination protections in each state and includes a listing of the state office overseeing religious discrimination.
Grant Guide – for faith organizations to more easily navigate the federal grant process.
Guide for Faith Organizations & Retirement– to navigate retirement benefits for their employees.

U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer shared, “Americans should not face discrimination in the workplace because of their religion. Our new Center for Faith website offers helpful guidance for American workers and faith organizations interested in competing for grants at the Department of Labor.”

We applaud the U.S. Department of Labor for providing these new religious liberty resources!

National Catholic Prayer Breakfast
