HHS Secretary Kennedy Shares about Need for Faith-Based Organizations
The Great American Recovery (Read Press Release, HERE)
Secretary Kennedy announced a $100 million investment to solve:
- long-standing homelessness issues
- fight opioid addition
- improve public safety (expanding treatment that emphasizes recovery and self-sufficiency)
Spiritual Malaise
He explained that we are facing a spiritual problem sharing, “We are in a spiritual malaise in the country, and we need to give people access to all different ways of reconnecting with something that is higher than themselves.”
Need for Faith-Based Organizations
Secretary Kennedy emphasized the need for faith-based organizations with, “This is a chronic disease, it’s a physical disease, it’s a mental disease, it’s an emotional disease, but above all, it’s a spiritual disease, and we need to recognize that and faith-based organizations play a critical role in helping re-establish their connections to community.”
