The President shared that:

prayer is our nation’s superpower
there will be a National Prayer Event on May 17th on the National Mall in Washington, DC. and
that our nation will return to “One Nation Under God!”

President Announces Prayer Guidance in Public Schools

Today at the National Prayer Breakfast, the President announced that the U.S. Department of Education officially issued out the NEW Guidance for Constitutionally Protected Prayer and Religious Expression in Public Schools.

A few of the topics covered in the NEW Guidance includes:

Private Religious Expression by Students
Religious Expression in Student Groups
Religious Expression at School Events
Religious Expression in Assignments
Religious Expression by Public School Employees

The Press Release explains:

“School officials should allow members of the public school community to act and speak according to their faith, as long as:

They respect the rights of others;
The school itself does not engage in religious activities or speech as an institution; and
The school does not favor secular views over religious ones or one religion over another.”
