📣 VP Calls for Prayer - National Faith Advisory Board

Dear Faith Leader

President Trump continues to provide leadership resulting in solving problems that once seemed impossible, like the peace deal in the Middle East. Vice President Vance called on people of faith saying: “And I’d ask all people of faith, in particular my fellow Christians, to pray that the Prince of Peace can continue to work a miracle in this region of the world.”

As Isaiah 9:6 shares, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

We are grateful for our nation’s leaders acknowledging the Prince of Peace and inviting prayer for peace. Let us each take time to pray for peace in the Middle East.

What is Happening to Cause the Government Shutdown?

The Republicans would like to pass the Continuing Resolution to fund and re-open the government and to allow for both sides of the aisle to negotiate their policy disagreements. Their focus is on cutting wasteful spending and to ensure that Americans know where their taxpayer dollars are going. WATCH Speaker Johnson’s Press Conference ABOVE or HERE.

The Democrats are voting against the Continuing Resolution because they want to include funding for healthcare for undocumented individuals and to create leverage for spending on $5 Billion on Programs and Climate Initiatives in foreign countries. Examples of these programs include:

$2 million towards initiatives supporting gender identity and LGBTQ+ activism in Guatemala.
$7.9 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid “binary-gendered language.
$3 million for sexual reproductive health in Venezuela.
$2.5 million for electric vehicles in Vietnam.
