NFAB’s April Policy Webinar Recap
April’s NFAB Policy Webinar brought together leaders from the White House, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the Christian counseling community for a timely conversation on national renewal, religious liberty, mental health, and the Church’s role in this critical moment.
NFAB Founder and President Pastor Paula White-Cain opened the call by reminding attendees that NFAB continues to grow across the country as churches and faith leaders are being equipped, informed, and activated. She urged believers to pray with wisdom and courage as the nation prepares for Rededicate America 250 on May 17.
Rededicate America 250: A Historic Call to Prayer
White House Executive Director of Task Force 250 Brittany Baldwin shared an in-depth look at the upcoming Rededicate America 250 gathering on the National Mall. Brittany explained that the event will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Second Continental Congress’ call for a day of prayer, fasting, and humiliation before the American Revolution.
What to Expect A national day of Prayer, Praise, Thanksgiving, Historical remembrance, and Renewed dedication to God and country
The Structure: The program is organized into core “Pillars”:
- Pillar I: the Miracles that Made Us
- Pillar II: The Miracles Still in Our Midst
- Pillar III: A New Birth of Faith and Freedom
- A closing moment of rededication led by Speaker Mike Johnson
Brittany emphasized that while organizers can plan an event, people of faith can help make it a movement.
HHS Faith Center: Equipping Faith Communities to Serve
Pastor Paula then welcomed Dr. Monty Burks, Director of the HHS Center for Faith.
Dr. Burks shared that faith is one of America’s original infrastructures—a bridge connecting people, communities, and help in times of need.
Dr. Burks explained that HHS seeks to come alongside churches and ministries already serving their communities in areas such as:
- Addiction recovery
- Re-entry after incarceration
- Mental health support
- Fatherhood initiatives
- Healthy marriages and family stability
He also 1) encouraged leaders to reach out when religious liberty barriers hinder ministry efforts and 2) addressed the growing mental health crisis impacting families and communities. Pastor Paula noted that many people turn first to pastors before seeking clinical care. The message was clear: Faith Leaders remain on the front lines of hope, healing, and restoration.
A Prayerful Closing
Dr. Tim Clinton, President of the American Association of Christian Counselors, closed the webinar in prayer for Dr. Burks, HHS, and leaders serving across the administration.
He reminded attendees that believers must not focus only on the problems before us—but on the promises of God.
